How To Market Online
When I first started my business nobody needed to know how to market online, since there was no online at the
time. If you have been running a business for any length of time you will have done some form of marketing your
business. Most of those marketing methods will work to some degree online. For instance if you ever did any kind of
advertising in the newspaper you will find all sorts of online classifieds for you to post ads in. The same is true
if you did any marketing in the yellow pages, online there are many different directories that you can list your
company in.
The difference is in fact that when you advertise in the yellow pages there is only one or maybe two directories
in a city. Where online there can be quite a few, some are paid and some are free. The big thing is will your
clients, or should I say future clients find you in these directories?
Therefore there is better methods of marketing online then using small ad business directories. For instance if
all you had was a 3-4 page website you could still draw clients (traffic in the online world) to your site through
a few different marketing methods.
The easiest and fastest method is to use something called ppc (pay per click). This is a form of advertising
where you only pay for the people that actually come to your site.
Another method that works good is to use jv marketing methods. This is someone that works in a comparable but
not competitive market, that you can exchange lists of clients with.
Of course the best method is if you build a website and get your keywords ranked on the first page of google.
(Called search engine optimization, SEO for short) This will bring you free traffic for years to come.
